|
Session #: 046-107
Presenter(s): Panel Session Length: 1:15 hr.
Program: 2006 ULI Fall Meeting Date: 10-2006
Long gone are the days of hitching posts and tumbleweeds; Denver is home to world class transportation facilities. Denver International Airport is the only major airport in the United States to be built on a new site in 25 years. FasTracks—Denver's $4.7 billion, 12-year build out of a mass transit system—will usher in a new approach to Colorado living. Today many consider Colorado at the cutting-edge as it works to revitalize communities through the development of transportation infrastructure that moves people, enhances economic vitality, and ushers in a new era for mass transit in the West. Denver has moved beyond a highway approach to getting people around town. It connects the dots between air travel, interstate rail, highways, transit, and bike paths. . . one step at a time.
