Few individuals question the growing need for workforce housing, especially in our urban areas. The challenge is providing this housing at rates affordable to moderate income workforce (teachers, police, firefighters, nurses, etc.) given the high cost of land and construction costs. This session will share practical tools and ideas to help you make your project viable. Learn about public policy efforts to reduce the cost of workforce housing, including public and private incentives, and municipalities' efforts to provide enhanced entitlements and streamlined process. This session will also examine creative debt and equity financing, and will highlight several projects that have been developed successfully for moderate income households.
